Four Months, One Suitcase: Minimalist Packing for Studying Abroad

I am studying abroad in Saarbrücken, Germany from August to December. I have elected to bring one, medium-size suitcase, in the spirit of being happier with less!

Why should you try “minimalist packing”?

  • You can focus on your experiences instead of your belongings.
  • You have less stress when traveling from the airport to your lodgings.
  • You have more space, room, and energy for meaningful experiences.

Here’s what I packed for my four month stay:

Clothing:

• 2 long-sleeved shirts
• 3 short sleeved shirts
• 3 sweaters
• 2 pinafore dresses
• 2 pairs of stretchy denim
• 2 pairs of leggings
• 2 t-shirts for sleeping
• 1 comfortable hoodie

Underwear + Outerwear:
